Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam holds the chieftaincy title of Makamam Tilden. Alhaji Shehu Gabam is a Nigerian politician and businessman and the current National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party. Born on April 20, 1970, in Tilden Fulani, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria. Alhaji Shehu Gabam became the new Chairman of the Social Democratic Party on June 08, 2022, following the rezoning of SDP leadership by the National Executive Committee of the party.
Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam attended SLB Primary School in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, for his primary education before proceeding to the CommonWealth College of Commerce in Jos, where he completed his secondary education. He obtained a Diploma in Computer Science from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. He later obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Abuja. He holds a Masters degree in International Affairs and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna. Additionally, he has received various certificates in leadership training and public speaking.
Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam is the Executive Chairman of Gabam Integrated Farms Limited. The SDP National Chairman has been actively involved in Nigerian politics for several years. In 1990, he joined the old Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a member before serving the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) as a Youth Leader in 1995. He later worked as a Special Assistant to the late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, the former Governor of Kano State. At the commencement of the 3rd republic, Gabam was a member of the G8 Political Group, the Group later transformed into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He served as the Chairman of the PDP National Electoral Appeals Panel in Rivers and Cross River States. In 2007, he was appointed, Director of Special Duties in the IBB Presidential Campaign Organization.
He held various positions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) including serving as a member of various subcommittees of the PDP National Convention.
Between 2007 - 2010, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam was Chief of Staff to the Bauchi State Government. In 2011, he was appointed, Deputy Director General (Harmonized) of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation. In 2011, Alh Shehu M Gabam contested as the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of the ANPP in Bauchi State.
He was Director General , Chief Raymond Dokpesi PDP National Chairmanship Aspiration before contesting the 2019 General election as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party. Prior to becoming the National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam was the National Secretary of the SDP between 2018 and June 8, 2022.
