FEDERAL HIGH COURT REAFFIRMS ALHAJI SHEHU MUSA GABAM AS SDP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
Abuja, Nigeria – The Judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on 24th June, 2026 in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/402/2026 BETWEEN SALAWU-ADENIYI MUSTAPHA OLAITAN V. INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION & 3 ORS, has unequivocally reaffirmed His Excellency Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam as the National Chairman of Social Democratic Party. bringing fresh legal clarity to the party's leadership.
In its judgment, the Court upheld the legitimacy of the Gabam-led National Working Committee (NWC), reaffirming its authority to continue administering the affairs of the party in accordance with the SDP Constitution and applicable laws.
The ruling is being welcomed by party members and stakeholders as a significant victory for the rule of law, internal democracy, and constitutional governance within the SDP. It is also expected to provide greater stability as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 General Elections.
With the leadership question now judicially resolved, attention is expected to shift toward strengthening the party's structures, expanding its membership base, and advancing its political agenda across the country.
